Dennis Wilson is a partner and senior vice president with Turning Point Healthcare Advisors, Inc. Specializing in financial modeling for site and master facility plans, third-party reimbursement, and managed care contracting, he has more than 25 years' experience in financial analysis, financial forecasting and strategic planning. Mr. Wilson has developed a sophisticated, integrated financial model that uses forecast admissions by service line to compute ancillary volumes, gross and net revenues, and expense detail by cost center. The model also generates a statement of operations, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and financial ratios. Mr. Wilson’s experience includes:
- Serving for 14 years in a variety of financial development positions, including six years as CFO of a major teaching hospital. He improved the profitability of the hospital, which had over 70 percent managed care business, from $1.5 million to $9.2 million and increased cash by $13 million while reducing debt by over $3 million.
- Serving as the chief financial officer for a rehabilitation hospital for seven years and as the interim chief financial officer for a 350-bed acute care hospital for three years in the Midwest.
- Providing consulting services for 12 years on various projects similar to those shown below:
- Completing the financial feasibility for a number of replacement hospitals
- Conducting a market and financial analysis for a proposed offsite ambulatory care center, which included program and service planning, financial analysis of departmental statements, capital costs, and volume forecasts, and evaluation of the effect of lost surgical and other business on the main campus
- Preparing a turn-around financial analysis for a major inner city hospital including a productivity study, a review of business office functions, a managed care contract review, and a physician contract review
- Crafting a tool to compare departmental performance to benchmarks as a basis for making recommendations related to productivity improvement

Developing financial models to evaluate the impact of major facility renovations, replacement hospitals, new ambulatory centers, and new clinical services for more than 15 hospitals throughout the country
Mr. Wilson has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
