Mr. Brimhall has over 38 years of healthcare and not-for-profit management and leadership experience. A graduate of the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, he spent most of his career in prestigious academic medical centers, including the University of Utah, the University of California–San Francisco, and as President and CEO of the University of Colorado Hospital. At the University of Colorado he was a key leader in conceptualizing, articulating, and implementing the relocation of the entire health sciences campus to a new site at Fitzsimons. This unprecedented and highly successful strategy required developing strong relationships with local, state, and national political leaders; sound communications with staff as well as medical and other faculty; and creative approaches to acquiring capital from donors and credit markets. It also provided a rare opportunity to use a “green-field” approach to changing the institutional culture in terms of patient experience and staff performance. Mr. Brimhall has also served as a leader at the national level in Graduate Medical Education, academic medicine, group purchasing, and with consortiums and for-profit provider groups. Locally, he has been intimately involved in the community and has served on several boards of not-for-profit entities.
